Conservative Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson said on Thursday the wave of scorching temperatures across the United States has converted him into a believer in global warming.
We really need to address the burning of fossil fuels,
Robertson said on his 700 Club
broadcast. It is getting hotter, and the icecaps are melting and there is a buildup of carbon dioxide in the air.
Yes, folks, it's been that hot here in Virginia over the past couple of days.
While I'm not sure that this news isn't, in fact, a sign of the coming apocolypse; I'm glad that Pat Robertson is on board. He has a great deal of influence with conservative Christians and can really help a lot of people understand their impact on the climate.
Wow, I never knew that so many Democrats obeyed the directions of Rev Robertson. Maybe next they will back ID if he says so...
Personally, he is not the type of guy who I take advice (or scientific instruction) from
What, exactly, has any of this got to do with the Democratic party?
I think you do make a good point, and this story fails to mention that he's been convinced by the single flimsiest piece of evidence possible (no matter how completely uncomfortable it has made the Commonwealth these past few days). I just hope his influence gets people talking, asking questions, and thinking about their actions.
I agree with you there, about his capitulation based on flimsy evidence.
One data point does not prove a theory. As the saying goes, "One swallow does not mean spring has arrived."
Wow, didn't see that one coming. I think it's a bit fishy, though. And once again, I would warn that "science" is not something to be believed in.
Frankly, neither is Pat Robertson.
