EA Wants a Ticket for the Wii Train

When the Nintendo Wii launches later this year, it will be the least expensive so-called "next-generation" console on the market. While it may not have next-gen specs, one thing it lacks could be one of its biggest selling points: the next-gen price. For while the Xbox 360 sits atop a $399 perch (with a $299 econo-version) and Sony's PlayStation 3 gazes out at all civilization from its $599 peak ($499 Jr. edition), the Wii is expected to come to market somewhere between $199 and $249. The feel-good gaming story of the year, if you want to buy into it, is that Nintendo knows what good gaming is, and they're so dastardly smart that they're keeping costs down in order to keep the good vibes up.
